On September 4th, during the second day of the International Defense Industry Exhibition (MSPO) in Kielce, WB GROUP and Hanwha Aerospace signed an agreement on local production of guided rockets for the HOMAR-K launcher.
During the 32th MSPO, a ceremonial conclusion of an Memorandum of Understanding on exploring the possibility of establishing a Polish joint venture company that would produce and design missiles and rockets took place in the WB GROUP pavilion.
On behalf of the Polish WB GROUP, the document was signed by President Piotr Wojciechowski, while the South Korean Hanwha Aerospace was represented by General Director Sohn Jae-il.
“Through future localization of production, we will actively respond to the security needs of Europe, strengthen our position as a global defense company and contribute to strengthening the alliance between the Republic of Korea and Poland,” said Sohn Jae-il, General Director of Hanwha Aerospace.
“The difficult negotiations on signing this agreement lasted for the last two years. This is another important step in ensuring Poland’s security by increasing the capacity to produce and develop new types of ammunition for the Polish Army,” summed up Piotr Wojciechowski, president of WB GROUP.
WB GROUP and Hanwha Aerospace are cooperating on the supply of HOMAR-K missile launchers to the Poland’s Land Forces. The companies of the WB GROUP are supplying the FONET vehicle communication platform, the TOPAZ combat management system, communication devices and radios and other ICT systems.
