WB GROUP presents the system for autonomous reduction of the consequences of failures in MV electric grid.
During the 30th Europower Energy Conference which took place on 5-6 November in Warsaw, WB GROUP, along with partners: PGE Dystrybucja and APATOR Elkomtech, presented the innovative system for automonous reduction of the consequences of failures in MV electric grid – SARSA.
The solution is part of the project “The system for autonomous reduction of the consequences caused by failures in MV electric grid”, financed from the EU funds (European Regional Development Fund under the Smart Growth Operational Program 2014-2020.
The project is being run in the competition by the National Research and Development Center, by the consortium composed by PGE Dystrybucja (leader), Mindmade Sp. z o.o. | WB GROUP and Apator Elkomtech S.A.
The SARSA was designed to address the problems caused by natural disasters, faced by many electric distribution network operators. The system’s main features include: the problem and place automatic recognition and quick separation of the damaged grid segment, automatic power restoration to the functioning part of the grid, autonomous and decentralized operation, as well as the accurate identification of the damaged section in MV grid.
“The main idea behind the creation of SARSA was to autonomously and quickly locate and identify the MV electric grid failure in order to restore the energy supply to consumer – said Tomasz Borkowski, member of the board of Mindmade Sp. z o.o. | WB GROUP.
The project is characterized by the innovative transmission, featuring:
- Redundant communication system using multiple paths and technologies to transport the information
- The redundancy achieved in terms of coverage and technologies
- Integrated with the energy infrastructure. Does not require any additional poles, cables, base stations etc.
- High level of ICT security built-in (ICT -information and communication technologies).
